Nimisha’s graduate research focused on analyzing the impacts of monsoon flooding in the Mithi River watershed in Mumbai, India, and developing equitable flood mitigation techniques in high density developing nations. She believes in the integration of community outreach, public policy, planning and restoration design principles for combating the effects of urban flooding. Nimisha is interested in working on bridging the gap between scientific research, governmental organizations and the community for better public policy planning for climate change and disaster management. She worked as a landscape architect in India before transitioning to environmental planning.
